2. Retract the gauge measuring wheel.
3. Switch OFF the profile measuring system (Profiler FX or high speed laser scanner, if
installed)
4. Disconnect the power supply.
5. Remove the measuring system (Profiler FX or high-speed laser scanner, if installed)
6. Remove the trolley from the track.
7. Separate the two wheel part and store the trolley in the transport box.
5.8.6 Handling the trolley TGS FX or TSC off the track
Only put the trolley on the ground with the gauge measuring wheel in its retracted position.
NEVER put the trolley TGS FX on the ground with the gauge measuring wheel in its extended
position.
5.9 Battery life
The battery life depends on various factors. The most relevant are:
Temperature The capacity of the battery decreases with lower temperature. With
temperatures around 0 °C, the capacity is reduced to only 50-70% of the
maximum.
Age of battery Batteries have limited number of charging cycles. Frequent re-charging
of batteries reduces the maximum capacity.
Operation mode The battery life depends on system settings and operation mode. The
following will affect battery life:
Bright screen illumination
Power saving functions of the field computer (must be disabled for
GRP/IMS 5000)
Extensive automatic profile measurements (Profiler FX)
Continuous communication to total station (e.g. in tracking mode)
