Chapter 6 Maintenance, checking and
adjustment
The GRP System FX is inspected, checked and adjusted before shipment. The resulting values
are listed on the Producer Inspection Certificate.
The geometric and sensor parameters should be verified at least once a year and after any
mechanical impact.
There is a special inspection set available which allows checking and adjustment of your trolley
system at your local Amberg Technologies representative. For more information please contact
your local Amberg Technologies representative.
The following parts of the system are checked and adjusted:
■
Track trolley geometry
■
Cant sensor
■
Gauge sensor
■
Odometer
6.1 System maintenance
The following procedures will ensure maintenance of precise measurements.
6.1.1 Cleaning
Clean the system before and after every measurement session. Pay special attention to
cleaning all wheels (trolley wheels and gauge measuring wheel). Build-up of dirt will decrease
measuring accuracy.
If there is much grease accumulating on the trolley wheels or on the gauge wheel, it even may
be necessary to clean the system during a measurement session. Grease accumulation can
be removed by the careful use of a screwdriver and a drapery.
6.2 Checking and adjustment concept
The Amberg Fidelity software is used to manage the different trolley geometry configurations
and to check and adjust the trolley sensors.
All geometric and sensor parameters are stored in the memory of the FX-Controller of the track
trolley, TGS FX. Up to 15 different configurations can be stored for different gauge widths or
different profile measuring devices.
For further details see the Amberg Fidelity help.
6.3 Check and adjustment of track trolley geometry
Every GRP System FX delivered is checked and adjusted individually before shipment. For
each gauge extension, the specific constants are determined and stored in the memory of the
FX-Controller.
For further details see the Amberg Fidelity help.
