Chapter 2 — Instrument Overview
2-1 Introduction
This chapter provides a brief overview of the Anritsu VNA Master. The intent of this chapter
is to acquaint you with the instrument. For detailed measurement information, refer to a
specific measurement guide, as listed in Appendix A, “Supplemental Documentation”.
2-2 Turning On the VNA Master
The Anritsu VNA Master MS202xB models are capable of approximately four hours, and the
MS203xB models are capable of approximately three hours, of continuous operation from a
fully charged, field-replaceable battery (refer to Section 1-15 “Battery Replacement”
on page 1-9).
The VNA Master can also be operated from an external power source (which also
simultaneously charges the battery). This can be achieved with either the Anritsu AC-DC
Adapter or the Automotive Cigarette Lighter Adapter. Both items are included with the
VNA Master.
Caution
When using the Automotive Cigarette Lighter Adapter, always verify that the
supply is rated for a minimum of 60 Watts at 12 VDC, and that the socket is clear
of any dirt or debris. If the adapter plug becomes hot to the touch during operation,
discontinue use immediately.
