12 Output Configuration
Induction Loop outputs are supported by VAR Router V4.1.0470 or later. As standard, all outputs are
standard outputs, unless the VAR Router is configured to support Induction Loops, as described in Section
13.1 Setting the VAR Router to Support Induction Loop”.
This Section describes the configuration of standard VAR Router outputs. The menu for an Induction Loop
output has differences, and is described in Section “13 Induction Loop Configuration”.
12.1 Gain Configuration
Once all the inputs have been balanced in order to give the same volume as each other, by adjusting the
input gain, each output can be set to give the correct sound pressure level in the output zone, by means of
its output gain.
L
Any output level adjustment should be performed with the ANS function for that output disabled,
as described in Section ”12.3.1 Enabling/Disabling the ANS and Setting the Attack Time”.
The output gain can be adjusted, as described in the following steps.
1. Select ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆOutputs.
2. From V4.1.0470 or later, move to, and select the Configuration menu item.
[Configuration] Induction Loop
3. Scroll the output list and select the required output:
[O/P #1 - OUTPUT 01]
Default value: output 1
Outputs: 4 outputs for VAR4
12 outputs for VAR12
20 outputs for VAR20
Note: The output name is shown on the right side of the display. The output name above is the
output 1 default name, however this may have been changed according to each site’s
configuration.
Outputs 3, 4, 11, 12, 19, and 20 may have been configured as induction loop output, in which
case, please refer to Section “13 Induction Loop Configuration”.
4. Move to, and select the Level menu item.
[Level] EQ ANS Surv Override Name
5. Scroll the gain range until the required value is displayed:
[Level=-10]
Default value: 10’
Possible values: 63 to 0dB (1dB steps)
Note: Note that this adjustment works in real time, so it can be experienced immediately on any live
routes.
6. Save the changes by pressing the SELECT key, or cancel by pressing the BACK key.
