The loudspeaker line integrity monitoring is carried out using DC surveillance from the appropriate amplifier.
This automatically detects open circuit and short circuit faults.

DC surveillance tone parameters should be configured for all installed amplifier surveillance
cards when DC surveillance is required, such as, the ASL LSDDC and LSDIC Surveillance
Interface Cards. Please refer to the LSDDC and LSDIC user documentation for further
details.

In order to set the DC surveillance proceed as follows.
1. Select ConfigurationÆFrames.
2. Scroll and select a mainframe from the configured mainframe list:
[Frame#nn - ]
Default values: n.a.
Note: If no mainframe is configured, then a warning message will be displayed.
The mainframe description will be shown on the right side of the display, if defined.
3. Move to, scroll, and select a slot from the slot list:
Commission Description Temp [Slot#n]
Default values: ‘Slot#1’
Possible slots: 1 to 4
Note: If the selected slot is not configured, then a warning message will be displayed.
4. Move to, and select the DC Line menu item:
Description AC Level [DC Line] Earth
5. Move to, and toggle to the required DC line surveillance option:
[Not Surv] Spurs=00 Read
Not Surv
The loudspeaker line will not be surveyed. Therefore no EOL faults will be reported.
Surveyed
A fault will be reported on any deviation from the configured number of EOL resistors on the
loudspeaker line.
Default value: ‘Not Surv’
6. Commission the amplifier by pressing the SELECT key, or cancel by pressing the BACK key.
The system will return to the parent menu after 3 seconds on pressing the SELECT key, or immediately
by pressing the BACK key.
Note: Pressing the SELECT key will commission the amplifier, and return to the parent menu. If
‘Surveyed’ has been configure, then the number of EOL resistors on the loudspeaker line
should be configured, as described in the next step.
