7.1 Mic/Line Input Type Configuration
In order to configure the type of the audio source connected to a Mic/Line input proceed as follows.
1. Select ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆInputsÆMic/Line.
2. Scroll the Mic/Line input list and select the required input:
[I/P #01 – MIC/LINE 01]
Default value: input 1
Possible inputs: 01 to 04 for VAR4
01 to 12 for VAR12
01 to 20 for VAR20
Note: The input name is shown on the right side of the display. The input name above is the Mic/Line
input 1 default name, however this may have been changed according to each site’s
configuration.
3. Scroll the possible Mic/Line types:
[Unused]
• Unused
Select this mode if the input is not used. The input is excluded from routing and audio monitoring.
• Fire Microphone
Select this mode if an ASL All-Call Fire or Emergency Microphone (FMS1, EAP01, etc.) is used.
This option is only available on audio inputs I/P #01 and I/P #02.
• Zoned Fire Microphone
Select this mode if an ASL Zoneable Fire or Emergency Microphone (FMS5, FMS10, ZEC20,
SMC01, SMC02, etc.) is used. This option is only available on I/P #01 and I/P #02.
• Paging Microphone
Select this mode if an ASL Paging Microphone (DMS5, DMS10, DMS20, ZPC20, etc.) is used.
• Single Button Microphone
Select this mode if an ASL Single Button Microphone (SAP01, SAP02, etc.) is used.
• Miscellaneous Input
Select this mode for other general purpose input sources (
Background music, non-ASL microphones,
PC/DVA systems,
Long Line PA audio, etc.).
• Network Channel
Select this mode for inputs used as network audio channel when a VAR12 or VAR20 is networked.
This option is only available on audio inputs I/P #01, I/P #03, and I/P #04.
Please refer to Section “5.1.3 Setting the VAR Router to Network Operation” for configuration of an
input used as ‘Network Channel’.
Default value: Fire Microphone for audio inputs I/P #01 and I/P#02
Unused for other inputs
4. Select the required input type.
