The application of the Programme Selector function is to allow remote selection of alternative sources to a
specific zone or zones. Normally the Programme Selector unit will be mounted within the zone and allow
selection of alternative sources, typically music sources.

Programme Selectors provide 12 position switch with ‘1’ providing an ‘off’ position. Normally this would
correspond to all routes being ‘off’.

• When an analogue input is used as a selector, zones to which inputs are routed by the
selector will not show as busy on microphones.

In order to configure an analogue input as Program Selector proceed as follows.
1. Select ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆControlÆRemote.
2. Move to scroll the Remote I/O unit list until the required unit is displayed:
[Remote I/O unit=n] Not Configured
Default value: ‘Remote I/O unit=1’
Possible I/O units: 1 to 3 for VAR4
1 to 6 for VAR12
1 to 9 for VAR20
3. Move to, and select the Analogue menu item.
[Analogue] Digital In Digital Out
4. Scroll the analogue input list and select the required input:
[Analogue channel=nn]
Default value: ‘Analogue channel=1’
Possible I/O units: 1 to 12
• Make sure the selected analogue input is to be configured as Programme Selector.
Once the ‘Selector’ menu item is selected, it will be assigned to the analogue input and
the previous configuration will be lost.
• The currently assigned configuration is displayed in upper-case letters.
