6.3.4.2.2 Configuring an Amplifier’s AC Surveillance Thresholds
The surveillance thresholds are used by the amplifier surveillance cards to monitor the amplifier’s health
when the AC surveillance is enabled, as described in Section “6.3.4.2.1 Configuring an Amplifier’s AC
Surveillance Tone Frequency Range”.
The selected mainframe automatically suggests suitable thresholds for the input and output AC surveillance
levels based upon a fixed proportion of the actual levels being detected if the user is logged on, assuming
that the system has no surveillance faults at that time. Automatic updates of these suggested thresholds are
made to the VAR Router LCD display after a short delay.
These suggested levels can be used as the threshold levels, or the user can set other threshold levels. After
the levels have been set, and if the surveillance is enabled, then any deviation from these threshold levels
will be reported as a fault if the AC surveillance.
In order to set the AC surveillance thresholds proceed as follows.
1. Select ConfigurationÆFrames.
2. Scroll and select a mainframe from the configured mainframe list:
[Frame#nn - ]
Default values: n.a.
Note: If no mainframe is configured, then a warning message will be displayed.
The mainframe description will be shown on the right side of the display, if defined.
3. Move to, scroll, and select a slot from the slot list:
Commission Description Temp [Slot#n]
Default values: ‘Slot#1’
Possible slots: 1 to 4
Note: If the selected slot is not configured, then a warning message will be displayed.
4. Select the AC Level menu item:
Description [AC Level] DC Line Earth
5. Select the Thresholds menu item:
Frequency [Thresholds] Interval
6. After selecting the Thresholds menu item, the suggested threshold levels will be shown on the LCD
display as detailed above:
[In(mV)=0000] Out(mV)=0000
Input Threshold Output Threshold
Default values: ‘0000’
Possible values: 0000 to 2000mV
