5.1.3.10 Network Input Ambient Noise Sensor (ANS) Configuration
As with local audio inputs on the Slave Units, it is possible to configure the ambient noise compensation to
be applied to network inputs when they are routed to an output which is under the control of ambient noise
sensors. See “12.3 Ambient Noise Sensor (ANS) Configuration”.
In order to configure the ambient noise compensation proceed as follows.
1. Select ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆInputsÆANS.
2. Scroll the Mic/Line input list and select the appropriate network input. Network inputs are identified by
the ‘Net-’ prefix:
[Net-Ctrl MIC/LINE 1] Enabled Not Tol
Default value: local input 1 name
Inputs: VAR12: Local inputs: 12 Mic/Line inputs + 8 DVAs + 1 music + Mute
Network inputs: 8 Mic/Line inputs + 4 DVAs + 1 music + Mute
VAR20: Local inputs: 20 Mic/Line inputs + 12 DVAs + 1 music + Mute
Network inputs: 8 Mic/Line inputs + 4 DVAs + 1 music + Mute
Note: The input name is shown on the right side of the display.
3. Move to, and toggle to the required ANS option in the left field:
Net-Ctrl MIC/LINE 1 [Enabled] Not Tol
[Enabled]
When ANS operation is enabled for an input then this input will be reduced according to the zone’s
ANS level when the input is routed to an output which is under ANS control.
This setting is normally used for all microphone inputs.
Note that if the input is ANS ‘Enabled’, it must be set to ANS ‘Not Tolerant’.
[Disabled]
When ANS operation is disabled for an input, then that input is always played at its configured gain,
without any ANS reduction.
This setting is generally only used for background music sources, and for emergency broadcast
inputs, if these are always required to be broadcast at maximum volume.
Default value: ‘Enabled’
