7.3.4.2 Configuring a Button for Microphone Routing (Zone Selection)
The Microphone Routing button function is for zone selection, i.e. when pressed it selects a specified output
or group of outputs to which the microphone audio is to be routed when PTT button subsequently is pressed.
If a ‘listen-in’ button or key-switch has been configured, and it is activated after pressing a zone selection
button, then the selected output or group of outputs will be routed to the VAR Router’s Aux Output. Refer to
Section “7.3.3 Listen-in Configuration” for further details.
Re-pressing a button will deselect it.
In order to configure a microphone button for zone selection proceed as follows.
1. Select ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆInputsÆMic/Line.
2. Scroll the Mic/Line input list and select the required input:
[I/P #01 – MIC/LINE 01]
Default value: input 1
Possible inputs: 01 to 04 for VAR4
01 to 12 for VAR12
01 to 20 for VAR20
Note: The input name is shown on the right side of the display. The input name above is the Mic/Line
input 1 default name, however this may have been changed according to each site’s
configuration.
3. The configured Mic/Line type is displayed.
The input type may be changed, as described in Section “7.1 Mic/Line Input Type Configuration”.
4. Press the SELECT key to display the next sub-menu.
5. Move to, and select the Buttons menu item.
[Buttons] Audio Ctrl Name
Note: The ‘Buttons’ menu item is only available for Paging and Zoned Fire Microphones.
6. Move to, and select the Zoning menu item.

7. Move to, and scroll the button list until the required button is displayed in the left field:
[Button #01] Not-Conf Security
Default value: ‘Button #01’
Button numbers: 01 to 30
