An ASL amplifier connected to this input requires the pulse interval to be set to 20 seconds, as
described in Section “6.3.4.2.3 Configuring an Amplifier’s AC Surveillance Interval”.
Default value: 12’
[Mode=Pulsed]
A pulsed surveillance tone with 20 seconds pulse interval is generated at the selected output.
Default value: ‘Mode=Pulsed’
5. Move to, and scroll the possible tone levels until the required value is displayed in the right field:
Mode=Pulsed [Level(dB)-12]
Possible values: 40 to 0dB (1dB steps)
Note: In a typical ASL system, the normal settings would be: ‘Pulsed’ and12dB’.
6. Save the changes by pressing the SELECT key, or cancel by pressing the BACK key.
When the system’s AC surveillance is being set-up, the surveillance tone produced by the
VAR Router is made continuous even if set to pulsed. This is because the amplifier
surveillance system needs a continuous signal to acquire its surveillance tone thresholds.
When the set-up menu is exited, the tone automatically returns to pulsed operation.
