Chapter 3. Eclipse Edge Installation
Installation Process for Edge
This section provides a basic guide, in order, of an Eclipse Edge hardware installation
process. Installation can be completed up to antenna alignment without the use of
Eclipse Edge Portal, the PC based craft tool. Portal is required to check and configure
an Eclipse Edge terminal / link.
Hardware installation typically proceeds as follows:
1. Pre-Installation
• Unpack equipment
• Verify system configuration:
• Check basic components
• Check kits and accessories
2. Installation
• Antenna
•ODU
• ODU grounding
• ODU cable (running and fastening)
• Cable grounding and weatherproofing
•Lightning surge suppressor
• Traffic and NMS cables
3. Install Eclipse Portal
4. Antenna Alignment
•Power On
• Connect PC and log onto Portal
• Configure equipment
• Align antenna/s
• RSSI at the ODU or RSL indication in Portal
Eclipse Edge Installation Prerequisites
You must obtain the tools and materials, and review the procedures, before going on
site to install Eclipse Edge. This section includes:

Ensure you have all necessary tools and material before going to site.
Table 3-1 lists the tools and material that must be sourced or supplied by the
installer.
