11.1 Synchronization best practice
Projector requirements
• U se projectors and lenses that are of the same make, age and model
• M a ke sure lamp s are the same age, and that lam p settings are identical across a ll projectors
• Ensure that all projector settings, including current software version, are identical

• Always align the projectors precisely
• Allow an ov erlap of 10% of the total image s ize
General
Wherever possible, sync hronization in multi-channel installations should be done at the image g enerator (IG) level rather than at the
projector level.
Consider the setup shown in . T his is a typical dual head setup where each projector channel is driven by two individual Image
Generators (IG). The problem is that the IG are not in sync with each other. Each projector will synchronize its projected image with
the DP1 input. Fram e rate conversion will be applied to the other input as necessary, but th e two projectors will not be in sync with
each other.
