HEADLAMP 7.1
REMOVAL/DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove front fairing. See 2.34 FRONT FAIRING.
2. See Figure 7-36. Remove headlamp from front fairing
mount.
a. Hold jam nut (6) with a wrench. Twist adjusting knob
counterclockwise to remove. Remove jam nut.
b. Compress clamps (3) on mounting studs (5). Pull
headlamp assembly forward when clamps slide
through front fairing mount.
3. Detach headlamp connector (8) [4].
4. Remove rubber boot (1).
1CAUTION
The bulb contains Halogen gas under pressure. Handle
bulb carefully and wear eye protection. Failure to comply
may result in minor or moderate injury.
CAUTION
Never touch the bulb with your fingers. Fingerprints will
etch the glass and cause the bulb to fail prematurely.
Always wrap the bulb in paper or a clean, dry cloth dur-
ing handling.
5. See Figure 7-37. Remove headlamp bulb.
a. Twist plastic collar (1) counterclockwise to remove.
b. Pull bulb (2) from headlamp housing (3).
ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION
NOTE
When replacement is required, see your Buell dealer. Not
using the specified bulb may cause charging system prob-
lems.
1CAUTION
The bulb contains Halogen gas under pressure. Handle

1. See Figure 7-37. Install headlamp bulb.
a. Insert bulb (2) into headlamp housing (3). Metal tab
on bulb must fit slot on headlamp housing.
b. Align tabs on plastic collar (1) with slots on head-
lamp housing (3). Install collar by turning clockwise.
2. See Figure 7-36. Install rubber boot (1).
3. Attach headlamp bulb connector (8) [4].
