Product Description 27
Link adaptation
Link adaptation is performed independently for each link for data traffic, and it is closed-loop based.
Adjusting the Tx modulation and coding scheme from MCS2 to MCS12 selected for transmission. It is
adjusted based on the following:
l Packet Error Ratio (PER),
l SNR,
l local measurements of successful and unsuccessful frame transmissions (e.g. count of frames
ACKed or Not ACKed).
Figure 9:
Adjusting links
Start from MCS2, adjust based on signal quality, when the session is idle, fall back to MCS-9 or any
highest MCS achieved below MCS-9.
Synchronization
Synchronization is used to control the transmit and receive signals to prevent self-interference. Radios
assigned with the same polarity will be transmitting and receiving at the same time. There are two types
of polarities:
l Odd (if Odd nodes are Tx)
l Even (if Even nodes are Rx)
