Fixing failure due to shaved belt tension plate
[Symptom/Question]
In the machines prior to the countermeasure cut-in serial number in factory described below,transmission shaft [1] of the 1st fixing
pressure belt assembly may be detached, and with this detachment the belt tension plate [2] may be shaved. [A] is a belt tension
plate in a normal condition, whereas [B] is a deformed condition, due to detachment and abrasion of a transmission shaft.
Keep on using the machine with the above state may lead to fixing failure.
[Cause]
The transmission shaft is controlled not to detach from the belt tension plate [1] by an E-ring [A]. However, as shown in [B], the
transmission shaft may be detached from the uncontrolled part [a]. In such case, due to abrasion between the detached shaft
and the plate, the belt tension plate [1] would gradually wear out. Photo below is showing the rear belt tension plate side.
