The4x4transmissionprovidesforeasyupwardand
downwardgearratiochangesonthemove.
However,asaclutchisnotusedbetweentheengineand
transmission,thepowerowfromtheenginetothetrans-
missionmustbeinterruptedtoshiftfromonegearratio
toanother.Thisisaccomplishedbyusingatransmission
disconnect(dump)button.
Thengeroperatedbutton(2)onthemaingearshiftlever
knob(1)iseasytooperate.

hill,becauseexcessivespeedmaycauselossofcontrol,
personalinjuryorthefailureoftransmission
Tomakeupwardgearratiochanges,simplydepressand
holdbutton(2)onthegearshiftlever(1),whileshiftingthe
samefromonegearratiotoanother.
Whenthedesiredgearratiohasbeenselectedrelease
thebuttonandallowtheunittogainenginespeedand
groundspeed.Ifanotherhigherratioisrequiredrepeat
theprocedure.
NOTICE:Topreventpossibledamagestothetransmis-
sionhydraulicclutches,neverusethedisconnectswitch
forinchingthemachineforward,becausethiswillcause
theclutchestoslipexcessivelyandtooverheat.
Tomakedownwardgearratiochangesorreduceground
speed,simplylowertheenginespeed,depressandhold
thegearshiftleverbuttonanddownshiftthetransmission.
Whenthedesiredgearratiohasbeenselectedrelease
thebuttonandadjusttheenginespeedtosuitground
speedrequired.
