control.Incorrectoperationofthecontrolscancause
seriousinjuries.

Checkallcontrolsandsafetydevicesinasafe,open
areabeforestartingwork.
•
Keepawayfromdangerousareassuchasditches,
overhangs,rockyareas,etc.Makeasurveyofthe
work-siteanddeterminethepossibledangersbefore
usingthemachine.
•
Beforeparkingthemachine,makesurethattheground
isstable.Plantheworksitesothatthegroundisat,
hardandlevel.
•
Beforemovingthemachinetoworkinanewarea,walk
aroundtodetermineallpossiblecausesofaccidents
there.Holes,obstacles,debrisandotherdangerrisks
intheworkingareacancauseseriousinjury.
•
Bereadytomeetemergencies.Alwayscarryarstaid
kitandifpossible,reextinguisher(notsupplied)within
easyreachonboard.Makesurethereextinguisher
isregularlyservicedinconformancewiththemanufac-
turer'sinstructions.
•
Checkthefasteningofthemaincomponents:counter-
weight,turntablebearingandoperator'scompartment.
Intheeventofproblems,consultyourCASECON-
STRUCTIONDealer.
•
Makesureyouunderstandthesymbolsusedonthe
machinesafetydecals.Keepthedecalscleansothat
theyareperfectlylegibleatalltimes.
•
Workoutameansofconvenientescapefromthema-
chine(emergencyexitviathewindshieldortherear
windowglass)intheeventofthemachineturningover
ortippingoverorthecabdoorbeingjammed.
•
Makesureyouareperfectlyfamiliarwithtrafcregu-
lationsandspecialsafetyequipmentrequirementsbe-
foretransportingthismachineonapublichighway.
•
Whenloadingtrucks,neverswingtheloadoverthe
truckcab.
•
Beforeundertakinganytravelonthejobsite,makesure
theitinerarytobefollowediscompletelysafe.Ifbridges
aretobecrossed,makesuretheyareperfectlycapable
ofsupportingtheweightofthemachine.
•
Alwayssteerroundlargeobstaclessuchasboulders,
bigtrees,etc.
Quickcoupler(optional)
•
Everyday,checkthatthelockingbarfunctionscorrectly
andthatitisnotfouledbyforeignmatter.Cleanthe
lockingsystemifnecessary.
•
Ifyouareobligedtousethequickcouplerwithbuckets
notmanufacturedbyCASECONSTRUCTION,make
surethediameterofthepinsandthewidthbetween
thebucketlugsmeetthedimensionsneededtotthe
quickcoupler(pins,washers,bushings,etc.).Consult
yourCASECONSTRUCTIONDealer.
Operatingthemachine
•
Whenworkingonapublichighway,usestandardtraf-
csignsandtakeintoconsiderationtheworkingrange
oftheupperstructureanditsattachments.Localorna-
tionalregulationsstipulatethenumber,typeandloca-
tionofreectorstrips.
•
Avoidrunningtheengineinaconnedspace.Ifthere
isnoalternative,properventilationmustbeprovidedat
alltimes.
•
Donotallowanyoneelseonthemachine.Thepassen-
gercouldfallorcauseanaccident.
•
Neveroperatetheworkingortravelcontrolsunlessyou
areproperlyseatedintheoperator’sseatwiththeseat
beltcorrectlyfastened.
•
Beforestartingtheengine,checkthedirectionoftravel
(inforwarddrive,thereductiongearsshouldbetothe
rearofthemachine).
•
Donotworknearoverheadhigh-voltageelectriclines
withoutcheckingbeforehandthatallnecessarymea-
sureshavebeentakentorespecttheminimumdis-
tances:
Lessthan57000volts:3m(9.8ft).
Morethan57000volts:5m(16.4ft).
•
Studythepositionofanyexistingpipelinesorconduits
beforestartingwork.Electricalcables,gasandwater
pipesandotherundergroundinstallationscancause
seriousinjury.
•
Alwaysmakeallowanceforworkingconditions(sloping
orroughground),thesiteandweatherconditionswhen
drivingthemachine.
•
Donotallowanyonetostandinthemachineworking
area.Accidentaloperationoftheupperstructureswing
controlorofanattachmentcontrolcouldcauseanac-
cident.Stopalloperationsuntileveryonehasmoved
away.
•
Beforeoperatingthedozerblade(ifequipped)make
surethatthereisnooneintheworkingareaofthelatter.
•
Operateallcontrolsgraduallytoensuresmoothma-
chineoperation.
•
Wheneverloadhandlingoperationsaretobecarried
out,itisimperativetoadherestrictlytotheinstructions
giveninthismanualandlocallegislation.
•
Itisforbiddentousethemachinetocarryouttasks
otherthanthoseforwhichitisintended.Neverusethe
equipmentforsweepingthegroundtoleveloutrubble
orpushobjects(transversalstressontheattachment).
•
Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkeywhenthe
machineisnotinuse,evenforshortperiodsoftime.
