Monitoring the ASA CX Module
Shutting Down the Module
If you restart the ASA, the module is not automatically restarted. To shut down the module, perform the
following steps at the ASA CLI.

Note For ASA CX-related syslog messages, see the syslog messages guide. ASA CX syslog messages start
with message number 429001.
Showing Module Status
To check the status of a module, enter one of the following commands:

The following is sample output from the show module command for an ASA with an ASA CX SSP
installed:
hostname# show module

Mod MAC Address Range Hw Version Fw Version Sw Version
Command Purpose
hw-module module 1 shutdown
Example:
hostname# hw-module module 1 shutdown
Shuts down the module.
Command Purpose
show module
Displays the status.
show module 1 details
Displays additional status information.
