Monitoring
Set up and use the patient monitor in accordance with its instruc-
tions for use.
Tasks before patient change
1 Clean and disinfect the gas analyzer according to hospital
hygiene regulations.
2 Check the water trap on the front of the gas analyzer. Empty
or replace the water trap as needed.
3 When no bacterial filter is used between sample line and
patient, replace the sample line. Dispose of used sample lines.
Switching off the gas analyzer
1 Set the On/Off switch on the rear of the device to "OFF"
Cleaning and disinfection
Cleaning of the gas analyzer
Classification of medical devices
For cleaning, the medical devices and their components are clas-
sified according to their type of application and the resulting risks:
– Non-critical medical devices: surfaces accessible to the user
and patient, e.g., device surfaces, cables
Testing of procedures and agents
Cleaning and disinfection were tested using the following proce-
dures and agents. The following agents showed good material
compatibility and effectiveness at the time of the test:
– Dismozon plus from the company Bode Chemie
When selecting a suitable disinfectant, adhere to the country-spe-
cific lists of disinfectants. The list of the German Association for
Applied Hygiene (Verbund für Angewandte Hygiene VAH) applies
in German-speaking countries.
Strictly observe the manufacturer's information on the disinfec-
tants. Manufacturers may change the composition of disinfectants
over time.
Manual disinfection and simultaneous cleaning
At the time of validation, the listed surface disinfectants showed
good material compatibility. Dräger recommends using a surface
disinfectant from the following list.
The manufacturers of the surface disinfectants have verified at
least the following spectra of activity:
– Bactericidal
– Yeasticidal
– Virucidal or virucidal against enveloped viruses
Observe the specifications of the surface disinfectant manufactur-
ers. Other surface disinfectants are used at own risk.
WARNING
Risk of infection
Used sampling tubing, HMEs, water traps, and the device
itself could be contaminated and must be handled and dis-
posed of with care.
Dispose of the accessories in an adequate way and in com-
pliance with local regulations.
WARNING
Risk of infection
Use only validated cleaning and disinfection procedures for
the device and accessories as described in these instruc-
tions for use.
WARNING
Risk due to inaccurate gas measurement values and gas
measurement failure
To avoid temporary influence on the gas measurement and
prevent damage to the water trap and measuring system do
not wash or disinfect the inside of the sample line or water
trap. Do not sterilize the sample line or water trap.
CAUTION
Risk of gas measurement failure
To prevent damage to the gas measurement, especially during
cleaning and disinfection, always keep the water trap installed.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging the pneumatic system
Do not apply excessive pressure (e.g., syringe, or compressed
air) to the inlet, exhaust port, or the water trap of the medical
device, e.g., during cleaning and disinfection.
