volume control, to scroll through list items, and to select the call type
in idle mode. Push it down and hold to turn the device on/off. Turn

to the required list item, or in idle mode, to the required call type.

Press and hold to enter Emergency Operation. When the
TGR990 is powered down, press and hold this key to power On in
Emergency Operation (if configured by your Service Provider).See
Emergency Operation on page 41.
Q
Aliases (names)
Aliases are optional names that you can assign to stored phone and
private numbers (or IDs). To edit an alias, see Creating a contact on
page 56.
Aliases can be up to 12 characters in length and may consist of
letters, numbers, and spaces.
Aliases are displayed during contact list scrolling or during an
incoming call. Aliases are also used in alphanumeric search to
retrieve numbers from your memory list.
Q
Screen saver
If your Service Provider configured this feature, the screen saver will
automatically cover the display after the TGR990 stays idle for a pre-
programmed period of time. If you press a key or a call arrives, the
screen saver is deactivated and the TGR990 resumes standard
operation.
The screen saver consists of a logo and an alphanumeric text.
Check in the menu options whether the Service Provider has given
you the capability of entering your own screen saver text (see
Screen saver on page 74).
