2. Locatetheantistaticwriststrapshippedwiththechassis.Attachtheantistaticwriststrapto
yourwristandplugthecablefromtheantistaticwriststrapintotheESDgroundingreceptacle
attheupperrightcornerofthechassis.
3. Removethefabriccardfromtheplasticbag.
Observeallprecautionsto
preventdamagefromElectrostaticDischarge(ESD).Savethebag
intheeventthefabriccardmustbereshipped.
4. Examinethefabriccardfordamage.
Ifanydamageexists,DONOTinstallthefabriccard.ImmediatelycontactEnterasys
Networks.Referto“GettingHelp”onpage xvii.
Installing the Fabric Card
ToinstallaK‐Seriesfabriccard:
1. Opentheejectorhandlesofthefabriccard.
Theopenpositionisapproximatelya45°angleawayfromthefabriccardfaceplate.The
ejectorhandlesmustbeopenwheninsertingthefabriccardtoallowthefabriccard tobe
installedproperly.
Electrical Hazard: Only qualified personnel should perform installation procedures.

Caution: Failure to observe static safety precautions could cause damage to the K-Series module.
Follow static safety handling rules and wear the antistatic wrist strap.
Do not cut the non-conductive bag to remove the module. Sharp objects contacting the board or
components can cause damage.
Precaución: Si no toma las medidas de seguridad necesarias para evitar descargas de
electricidad estática, es posible que el módulo se dañe. Siga los consejos de seguridad para la
manipulación del producto y no olvide utilizar la pulsera antiestática.
No corte la bolsa antiestática para sacar el módulo. Tenga en cuenta que si algún objeto cortante
entra en contacto con la placa o con los componentes, éstos podrían dañarse.
