Unpacking the K Chassis
TheK6chassisispackedandshippedinaboxwithoutaskid.Beforeunpackingthechassis,
examinetheoutsidepackagingforobviousdamage.
TounpacktheK6chassis:
1. Openthebox.
2. Removeandsavetheaccessorypackage,documents,andcablefromthetopofthestyrofoam
cap.SeeTable 3‐1.
3. Lift
andremovethestyrofoamcapfromthetopofthechassis.
4. Openthetopoftheshippingbagcoveringtheunit,thenpullthebagdownaroundthe
chassis.
5. Liftandremovethechassisfromthebox.
Saveallshippingmaterialsforfuturereshipping,ifnecessary.
6. Inspectthechassisforanysigns
ofphysicaldamage.
Ifthereareanysignsofdamage,DONOTinstallthechassis;instead,contactEnterasys
Networks.Referto“GettingHelp”onpage xviifordetails.
Note: Unpack the K6 chassis components only as needed. Leave the components in their
respective shipping cartons until you are ready to install that component. Save all shipping
materials in the event that the chassis has to be repacked.
