DMP 128 Plus ⢠Dante Controller 116
Physical Dante Network Setup
A physical network is required to share Dante audio channels between Dante-enabled
devices like the DMP 128 Plus AT. Other Dante-enabled devices must be on the same
physical network in order to communicate via Dante. There are two types of network
topology that can be used to create a physical Dante network.
⢠Star Topology ⢠Daisy Chain Topology
Star network topology has one DMP 128 Plus AT as the central unit which is directly
connected to up to 3 other units. A larger network switch can be used in place of a central
DMP 128 Plus AT, allowing more than four total units to be connected in the star topology.

Figure 186. Daisy Chain Network Topology
Hybrid versions combining the star and daisy chain topologies can be used, but a
ring topology or any topology that creates a duplicate connection causes a failure in
DanteîController. Redundant connections are possible using the primary and secondary port
interface structure (see Redundant Configuration on the next page).
