1. If an ETERNUS JX40 S2 storage module was delivered, label it with the always next
currently unused identifier, i.e. JX40-1, JX40-2 or JX40-3. The labeling positions are
shown by figure below.

Also affix a label to both ends of the power cables.
A label sheet was provided together with the original ETERNUS CS800 S6
delivery.
2. If you decided to switch off the system while working on its hardware (recommended,
see above), perform shutdown via the ETERNUS CS8000 S6 remote management
pages (see "Reboot & Shutdown" on page 457.)
Shutting down the system can take up to 15 minutes. The server goes into standby
mode, its power-off indicator lights up green.
3. If necessary, rearrange the existing components in the rack and/or mount the new
storage module(s). See section "Locating the Mounting Position" on page 82 and
"Installing a Storage Module in the Rack" on page 89.
CAUTION!
If you have to unmount or to relocate the existing modules ensure not to change
their order. Double check the labels, see step 1.
4. If necessary, prepare or enhance the SAS cabling as shown by figure"ETERNUS
CS800 S6 Entry SAS cabling with up to three JX40 S2 enclosures" on page 482.
