9.4.2 Medium priority clinical alarms
Color = black text, yellow background,
flashing.
Sound = A three tone pitch followed by a
pause, repeated indefinitely.
The following medium priority alarms exist on
the system:
DescriptionAlarm
The system detects a shortage of fresh gas in the
patient circuit due to possible leakage
Leakage

Leakage detected on the Y-piece sampling tube.Sampling tube leakage
Gas supply pressure <2.5 barAir/N

O supply pressure: Low
Gas supply pressure >6.5 bar.Air/O

supply pressure: High
Gas supply pressure >4.5 bar.N
2
O supply pressure: High
The measured end expiratory pressure is below the
preset or default alarm limit for three consecutive
breaths.
PEEP: Low
Activated when the measured airway pressure
exceeds predefined values for more than 15
seconds. Predefined values depend on current APL
setting.
Continuous APL pressure
Expiratory minute volume exceeds upper alarm
limit.
Expiratory Minute Volume: High
Permissible pressure limits pre-set tidal volumeRegulated Pressure Limited

RR is below the alarm limitRespiratory Rate: Low
RR exceeds the alarm limit.Respiratory Rate: High
Alarm activated when time between breaths
exceeds the adjustable time limit.
Apnea

Detected occlusion reported from Y-piece gas
analyzer
Occlusion in sampling line
