7 SFP Optical
transceiver ports
Two optical ports can be populated with optical transceivers in
SFP+ compliant packages for connection to fiber cables.
8 Power supply One or two power supplies, delivered with power cables
supplied by Harmonic.
9 Optical fiber port Two optical fiber ports are available.
10 Fiber management
tray
Manages the fiber cable inside the Ripple-2 node.
11 Replaceable
SIDACtor board
Protects the RF tray against voltage surges over the external
RF ports. To ensure adequate protection, the SIDACtor board
must always be replaced on nodes which are taken out of the
field for service purposes.
12 Tamper Switch
Sensor
A small push button switch that is activated by the fiber
management tray when the housing lid is closed; the switch
releases when the lid is opened. This enables operators to
monitor if the node is being serviced or tampered with. The
current state, Closed or Open, is revealed by running one of
these CLI commands:
• show rpn <rpn-id> lid
• show rpn <rpn-id> verbose
13 Powering Port 6 The node ships with ports 5 and 6 blocked by a plugs which
can be removed to allow the insertion of a dedicated power
stinger. The power adapter cable kit screws into the node
insert.
14 Powering Port 6 AC
board
The AC board receives the AC power feed from the dedicated
powering port, via the power adapter kit. There is an
equivalent AC board at port 5.
15 Diplex filter Three pluggable diplexer filter models are supported.
