Brake fluid may damage painted surfaces or
plastic parts. Always clean up spilled brake
fluid immediately.
3. Air bleed:
• brake system
4. Check:
• brake fluid level
Brake fluid level is below the “MIN” level
line
Add the recommended brake fluid to
the proper level.
5. Adjust:
• rear brake cable free play

CHECKING THE MASTER CYLINDER
1. Check:
brake master cylinder
Wear/scratches
Replace the brake master
cylinder assembly.
brake master cylinder body
Cracks/damage
Replace.
brake fluid delivery passage
(brake master cylinder body)
Blockage
Blow out with compressed air.
2. Check:
brake master cylinder kit
Scratches/wear/damage
Replace as a set.
3. Check:
brake fluid reservoir
brake fluid reservoir diaphragm
Cracks/damage
Replace.
ASSEMBLING THE BRAKE MASTER
CYLINDER
WARNING
All internal brake components should be
cleaned and lubricated with new brake fluid
only before installation.
Must use DOT4 Brake Fluid
Whenever a master cylinder is disassembled
replace the piston seals and dust seals.
