9. Lower the securing rod near the or label. See step (4) in Figure 5-54.
10. Align the heat sink with the fastening studs on the CPU socket, and place the heat sink
on the CPU. See step (1) in Figure 5-56.
Figure 5-56 shows the heat sink direction.

11. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the four screws on the heat sink in the diagonal
direction. See step (2) in Figure 5-56.

7.28 Removing a DIMM
This topic describes how to remove a dual in-line memory module (DIMM) before replacing
it with a new one.
Scenarios
Remove a DIMM in any of the following scenarios:
A DIMM fails.
A DIMM is to be replaced with a new model.
