7.40 Removing the Rear Hard Disk Backplane 
This topic describes how to remove the rear hard disk backplane before replacing it with a 
new one. 
Scenarios 
The rear hard disk backplane has failed. 
Prerequisites 
Conditions 
 
You have powered off the N2000H V3. For details, see 3.2 Powering Off. 
 
You have removed the chassis cover from the N2000H V3. For details, see 5.6 
Removing the Chassis Cover. 
Data 
 
You have determined the position on the N2000H V3 for removing the rear hard disk 
backplane. 
 
You have obtained the rack number and chassis number of the N2000H V3. 
 
You have located the N2000H V3 based on the preceding information, and labeled its 
panel to prevent misoperations. 
Tools 
 
ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves 
 
M3 Phillips screwdriver 
 
Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag 
Procedure 
 
Remove the rear hard disk backplane for 12 disks. 
a.  Remove the air duct and all fan modules. 
b.  Remove all cables from the mainboard. 
 
 
Remove the FFC cable to avoid cable damage caused by the removal of the mainboard frame. 
See step (1) in Figure 5-77. If the FFC cable is damaged, the Appliance cannot work. 
c.  Loosen the screws that secure the mainboard to the chassis. See step (2) in Figure 
5-77. 
d.  Push the mainboard frame out of the chassis by holding the mainboard handle. See 
step (3) in Figure 5-77.
