5.3.1 Appearance of the Fan Module
The fan module of the NE40E-8 is located behind a plastic panel and is used to cool boards.
The fan module consists of a fan frame, nine fans, and a Fan Control Board (FCB). Figure
5-10 shows the appearance of the fan module. When a single fan fails, the system can still
work normally for a short period of time at ambient temperature of 40°C ( 104°F ).

5.3.2 Front Panel
The indicators of the fan module are on the front panel. Figure 5-11 shows the front panel of
the fan module. Figure 5-12 shows the plastic panel of the NE40E-8 fan module.
