Figure 6-17 shows the appearance of the 1-port OC-768c/STM-256c POS-LC flexible card,
and the 1-port OC-768c/STM-256c POS-LC flexible card occupies two flexible card slot.

Features and Functions

Implements the 40-Gbit/s POS frame processing and interface functions, including
encapsulation or decapsulation of POS frames and SDH/SONET mapping or demapping
of POS frames.

Provides one channel of 39.813 Gbit/s optical interface.

Provides a group of Interlaken interfaces within the system.

Supports the extraction and insertion of the DCC field.

Provides status indicators (link and active indicators) for 40-Gbit/s interfaces.

Provides types of loopback functions.

Provides the environment monitoring function of the board.
