As shown in Figure 2-1, the NE40E-X16 has 16 LPU slots.The switching capacity of the
entire system is 12.58 Tbit/s.

2.1.2 System Architecture
This section describes the system architecture.
The NE40E-X16 adopts a system architecture shown in Figure 2-2. In this architecture, the
data plane, management and control plane, and monitoring plane are separated. This design
helps to improve system reliability and facilitates upgrading of each plane separately.
