C.3.8.1 SMB Configuration
Parameter Description
Preset
Choose a preset out of five possible sets of parameters. If
you click on Change Name you can change the name of this
set.
Port (139)
Enter the IP port of the SMB network communication. Default
is port 139.
Network Type
Select between Workgroup Network and
Homegroup Network.
For detailed information about the correct network type ask
your network administrator.
Server Authentication
(with Workgroup Network only)
Select the authentication method.
Login
(if Server Authentication = Yes)
Enter the user name on the Windows workstation/file server
which you want to connect to.
Password
(if Server Authentication = Yes)
Enter the password associated with the user name on the
W
indows workstation/file server which you want to connect
to. The password is stored using encryption.
SMB Path
Enter the upload path on the Windows workstation.
Start with a double slash (//) for the root directory. C
lick the
icon to
browse the workstation/server list and the directory
structure of the Windows workstation/file server.
Note: A valid login for browsing the directory structure is
necessary.
File name
Enter the file name. Variables can be used to complete the
file name. To learn more about the variables, click on the link
Wildcard characters.
Configuration Test: Click on this link to test the settings. A separate window will open
and shows the test results.
Note: Each change to an entry field is transferred to the scanner immediately.
