6 Specify the following settings as appropriate for your test:
a Layer 2 Settings (see “Configuring layer 2 Ethernet
tests” on page 51).
b Layer 3 Settings (see “Configuring layer 3 IP tests” on
page 136).
c Layer 4 Settings (See “Configuring layer 4 traffic” on
page 167).
7 Use the left or right arrow key to go to the Test Selections,
Test Selections (Upstrm) or Test Selections (Dnstrm)
configuration menu, and then Enable the tests you want
to run. You must enable the Throughput test to enable the
Latency (RTD), System Recovery, and Packet Jitter tests.
If you are running the test in Asym (Combined) mode,
Test Selection menus appear for both upstream and
downstream tests.
8 Specify the maximum bandwidth to transmit during the
course of each of the enabled tests.
NOTE: RFC 2544 tests always transmit a constant load of
traffic.
Remote IP If you are running the test with
layer 2 traffic, specify the remote IP
address for the instrument on the
far end.
Source IP If you are running the test with
layer 2 traffic, specify the source IP
address for your instrument.
Default Gateway If you are running the test with layer
2 traffic, specify default gateway.
Subnet Mask If you are running the test with layer
2 traffic, specify subnet mask.
