The SRX1600 rear panel has two AC PSUs which are hot-removable and hot-insertable eld-replaceable
units (FRUs). You can remove and replace the PSUs without powering o the SRX1600 or disrupng the
rewall funcons.
Ensure that you have the following parts and tools:
An electrostac discharge (ESD) grounding strap
An anstac bag or an anstac mat
A replacement AC PSU
A blank cover panel (in case you're not replacing the component)
Remove the AC PSU from the SRX1600
To remove an AC PSU from the appliance (see Figure 42 on page 75 ):
CAUTION: Avoid leaving the PSU slot empty for more than 30 minutes when the
device is operaonal. For proper airow, you must place the PSU in the chassis. Always
cover the empty PSU slot with a blank panel.
1. If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the o (O) posion.
2. Pull out the power cord connected to the power source outlet.
3. Place the anstac bag or the anstac mat on a at, stable surface.
4. Aach an ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to the ESD point on the
chassis.
5. Unplug the power cord from the device inlet on the PSU.
6. Press the latch, which is on the right side of the power outlet, to the le.
7. Pull the PSU straight out of the chassis.
