The rear panel of the SRX1600 has two DC PSUs, which are hot-removable and hot-insertable eld-
replaceable units (FRUs).You can remove and replace the PSUs without powering o the SRX1600 or
disrupng the rewall funcons.
Ensure that you the following parts and tools are available:
• An ESD grounding strap
• An anstac bag or an anstac mat
• A replacement DC PSU
• A blank cover panel (in case you're not replacing the component)
Remove the DC PSU from an SRX1600
To remove a DC PSU from the appliance (see Figure 44 on page 77 ):
CAUTION: Avoid leaving the PSU slot empty for more than 30 minutes when the
device is operaonal. For proper airow, you must place the PSU in the chassis. Always
cover the empty PSU slot with a blank panel.
1. Aach an ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to the ESD point on the
chassis.
2. Place the anstac bag or the anstac mat on a at, stable surface.
3. Switch o the external circuit breakers for all the cables connected to the PSU. Make sure that the
voltage across the power source cable leads is 0 V. You must remove any possibility for the cables
to become acve during the removal process.
4. Remove the clear plasc cover protecng the terminal studs from the faceplate.
5. Remove the screws and washers from the terminals using a number 2 Phillips screwdriver.
6. Remove the cable terminals from the terminal studs. Carefully move the power cables out of the
way.
