1. Measure
the
piston pin O.D. where it contacts the
bushing with an external micrometer.

2. Measure the small end bushing I.D. at the
connecting rod small end with an internal
micrometer or cylinder gauge.

3. Calculate the oil clearance.
NOTE
• If the
clearance more than the service limit,
replace the bushing.
• If it still more than the service limit, replace
the piston pin.
• When replacing the small end bushing,
select the cylinder head gasket thickness to
meet with the top clearance.

Removing small end bushing
1.
Press out the used bushing with small end bushing
replacing tool.
(A) Removing direction
Installing small end bushing
1.
Clean a new small end bushing and bore.
2.
Insert a new bushing onto the tool.
NOTE
Apply engine
oil to a new small end bushing
and bore.
(B) Installing direction
3. Press-fit it
with a press so that the seam (1) of
bushing position as shown in the figure, until it is
flash with the connecting rod.
