7.38 Checking cylinder wear
Tools required
Cylinder gauge
1.
Measure the cylinder bore I.D. at the 6 positions
(see figure) with a cylinder gauge and find the
maximum and minimum inner diameters.
2. Find the difference between the maximum and the
minimum inner diameters.
NOTE
If the
maximum I.D. or the difference is more
than the service limit, bore and hone it to the
oversize dimension.
