Canopy Connection Kit
To remote exhaust connect any Type A2 biosafety cabinet, the Ventus canopy
connection kit must be utilized. The Ventus canopy system consists of a high efficiency,
low profile canopy that interfaces directly with the Logic+’s control board. Ventus offers
several features that are a distinct improvement over prior canopy designs:
The alarm system is simple, rugged, and durable; a magnetic reed switch located
on the intake valve. The intake valve is also referred to as the inlet relief valve.
The intake valve is angled such that the incoming make-up (room) air must keep
the valve open to maintain normal operation; a loss of exhaust volume will allow
gravity to close the intake valve and open the magnetic switch, resulting in a
canopy alarm.
During a canopy alarm, in addition to the audible and visual alarms, relief valves
in the canopy will open, and the control board will run the Logic+’s blower at full
speed. These coordinated actions will help to maintain a safe inflow to protect the
operator during the alarm.
