Steering Column
Combination Starter and
Electrical Switch
1 Ignition
CAUTION
DO NOT crank the engine for more than
30 seconds at a time; wait two minutes
after each try to allow the starter to cool.
Failure to follow these instructions could
cause starter damage.
The ignition switch operates the engine
and accessory relay. To start the engine,
turn the ignition switch clockwise to the
start position. When the engine starts,
release the key to the run position.
When the switch is turned ON (in a
clockwise direction), a warning buzzer
sounds if air system pressure is below
448 ± 34 kPa (65 ± 5 psi). The buzzer
shuts off as soon as sufcient air
pressure is restored.
To stop the engine, turn the key counter-
clockwise to the off position.
To activate the accessory relay, turn the
switch counterclockwise to the
accessory position.
Left Stalk
The turn signal lever is located on the
steering column. It performs a number
of functions, including wiper controls,
switching from high/low beams, and turn
signal switch. The turn signal switch can
be used for courtesy ashing of marker
lights and for the ashing of high beams.
Marker Interupt button is used for ash
to pass.
