XI. CLEANING THE SPRAY
11.1. Washing the self-propelled machine after use
It is necessary to completely grease the self-propelled machine before washing. The self-propelled machine must be
washed on the plot or on a washing platform in compliance with applicable standards and laws.
The self-propelled machine must remain clean and correctly greased at all times
Before using the self-propelled machine, empty the main tank completely and rinse the entire spray system.
11.2. Cleaning nozzles
During cleaning operations. Use the appropriate personal protection equipment.
To clean a blocked nozzle:
- remove the nozzle from the nozzle holder using the Nozal nozzle tool
- brush out the nozzle orice using the Nozal hard brush
- brush in the direction of the slot for slotted nozzles
- aim a jet of compressed air into the orice to remove any impurities
in the duct (watch out for splashes)
- then rinse the nozzle using fresh water.
Do not:
- use an aggressive instrument such as iron wire or a blade tip, which
would denitively damage the nozzle,
- blow into the nozzle using your mouth.
Any product remaining in the tank and on the boom is hazardous for your health.
Using hard water can lead to scale forming in the nozzle and reduce its effectiveness. To clean nozzles, submerge in
an anti-scale product for 2 hours and then rinse with fresh water.
11.3. Checking nozzle ow
We recommend that you check your nozzles regularly: blocking, accidental wear, etc.
Check the flow in each nozzle 2 or 3 times each year.
If the flow measured is 10% above the nominal flow indicated in the flow table, replace the nozzle. If more than two
nozzles exceed this threshold, replace all nozzles on the boom.
