8.9 Backplate Options
The backplate on the CPC6050 provides channel specic choice between a Digital I/O or an Automatic
Contamination Prevention System (Automatic CPS). The backplate is located on the upper middle right
side of the rear panel for Channel A and upper middle left side of the rear panel on channel B. A dual
channel and a Single Output Autoranging CPC6050 has two backplates while a Single Output A or B
instrument has only one backplate. Figure 8.8 shows a dual channel instrument with Digital I/O on chan-
nel A backplate and Automatic CPS on channel B backplate.

8.9.1 Digital I/O
The Digital I/O capability is available to test various devices like a pressure switch or to connect external
devices like a pump. Use Screens in Section 6.4.11 Digital I/O Application to assign conditions or actions
to the digital inputs and the digital outputs for each channel. Refer to Section 7.1.1 for Digital I/O Speci-
cations.
