6.1 BCI 2.0
BCI stands for “Basic Communication Interface“ and describes the general definition for data exchange with
the PLC. The following definitions are possible with BCI 2.0 Standard drivers:
1) ZB4-604-IF1 station number (1 Byte)
2) ZB4-604-IF1 slot number (1 Byte)
3) PLC station number (1 Byte)
4) PLC slot number (1 Byte)
5) Data type (1 Byte)
6) Data type (1 Byte)
7) Module address (2 Byte)
8) Start address (2 Byte)
6.2 Driver Selection Errors
Error message: GROUP NOT AVAILABLE !/DRIVER NOT AVAILABLE !
The required BCI 1.0 driver is not available in the current firmware.
Error message: BCI 2.0 DRIVER NEEDED !
The required BCI 2.0 driver is not available in the current firmware.
Error message: ONLY BCI 1.0
The required driver is only available in the current firmware as a BCI 1.0
Error message: ONLY BCI 2.0
The required driver is only available in the current firmware as a BCI 2.0
These error messages indicate that your current firmware does not support more recent drivers. In this case
contact Technical Support.
6.3 GSD File
The GSD (Geräte Spezifikation Deutsch) file describes all the relevant properties of a device in the
PROFIBUS network. This file can be read by the programming device and is required in order to recognise a
PROFIBUS station.
The ZB4-604-IF1 card requires the GSD file “KMZB4D03.GSD”.
