7.2 DC system power supply, isolated (24VDC)
Type MV4-670/690-TA1(-xx1)
The MV4 is compliant with protection class 3 and must be connected to an SELV 24VDC (safety extra-low
voltage) supply (→ Section 21). The power supply is isolated and is potential-free. The current supply is
protected with a fuse (4A slow) (→ Section 21). This can be accessed without having to open the device. The
device is also protected against polarity reversal in the event of incorrect connection. Operation depends,
however, on correct polarity.
Normal safety standards and the specific local regulations must be observed when connecting the Panel.
The system power supply must be connected using a removable plug connector (3-pole). The plug connector
(socket connector screw terminals) is supplied with the device.
The following should be taken into account with the connection:
• The cross-section of the power supply cable must be at least 0.75mm² and a maximum of 2.5mm².
• A flexible lead or wire can be used for the connection.
• The current consumption (→ Section 21), selectivity and disconnection capacity in accordance with the
specified characteristics (→ Section 21) must be taken into account with the power supply connection.
• A connection to the functional ground (GND) is not compulsory for operation. The GND terminal is
directly connected to the housing potential.
