6 Application Layer
6.1 General description
- Group 2 Only Slave with Predefined Master/Slave Connection Set.
- Baud rate 125k, 250k and 500 kBaud
- Data transfer via higher-level MV4 protocol (requires the respective data handling block on the
Master)
The Firmware of the ZB4-606-IF1 communication card is stored on a 27C256 type EPROM. The EPROM
must be replaced if the Firmware is updated.
6.2 Prerequisites
- The connection of the MV4 Touch Panel to the DeviceNet is implemented with the
ZB4-606-IF1 communication card.
- Galileo from version 3.12 and higher is required for DeviceNet operation.
- A function handling block must be installed for data transfer with the Master SLC 500 PLC (refer to
the sample program Sample_AB_MV4.RS1).
- An EDS file MV4.eds’ from Version 1.0 is used for installation.
- Operation with the Master occurs exclusively in Polled I/O operation.
6.3 Assembly objects

In both of these objects, the data for the HMI profile is transferred in accordance with section 7.
6.4 Commissioning
The station number and baud rate can only be set via the PLC set-up in Galileo. Commissioning without a
valid Galileo project is not possible.
The error displays on the Touch Screen (red bars) refer to errors on the HMI profile level. A cable break or a
“Handle MV4” function handling block which has not been initiated will therefore be indicated as a TimeOut.
Transfer of the Identity Object is independent of these errors – and for this reason the DeviceNet Scanner
must be able to communicate in any case, with the Touch Panel after the baud rate and station number have
been set.
