NOTES
The interface to the SIMATIC S7 is connected directly via the PG Port (MPI).
The connection therefore does not require any parameter setting or the activation of any function blocks.
Standard PROFIBUS cables and connectors (MPI corresponds physically to PROFIBUS) are required for
connecting the individual stations in the MPI network. Please note, for installation of link cable, refer to the
specification of SIEMENS Section. MPI, regards length of cables and installation.
The ZB4-609-IF1 card must be set to “ALT” and the current MPI driver (MPI.BIN) must be loaded
(see also section 3.1).
The bus terminating resistors must be switched on at the cable ends (last stations), with at least one of
the stations being energised so that the terminations are supplied with power. With the standard
PROFIBUS cables this can be switched on using the slide switches in the connector housing.
Line termination in accordance with DIN EN 50 170/2.
