digitverificationperformedonevery UPCbarcode.
ThebasicprincipleoftheCheckDigitcalculationisthat eachdigitpositioninaprice
orweightfieldisassignedaweighingfactor.Weighingfactorsare2‐,3,5+,and
5‐.
Eachweighingfactoraffectstheparticularcalculationforthepositionconcerned.The
detailedcalculationandmethodusedforcalculatingthisweighingfactorisdescribed
