5 Now you want to get the broken end of the unused ribbon to the point
that it is lying in the cabinet bottom, ready to re-attach to the take-up roll.
If the ribbon is already accessible in the cabinetry bottom (if it has
broken just before reaching the take-up spool), make sure the ribbon
is torn all the way across. Then go to step 6.
If the ribbon is not accessible in the cabinetry bottom (if it has
broken before passing over the print-head, or somewhere inside the
mechanism) perform the following steps.
Wind the ribbon back onto the feed spool.
Pull the end of the ribbon toward you until it is completely clear of
the encoder compartment.
