The encoder uses a wide, black ribbon to print magnetic ink characters on
documents as they pass through your transport.
• When the ribbon runs out, you have to replace it.

Encoder Ribbon

Recognize this version of the encoder by the metal latch that retains the
ribbon cassette.
You will need a replacement ribbon
1 Swing the hinged encoder door up and to the right to open.
2 Check that the ribbon guide is located in the front of the cabinet.
